After President Joe Biden said the government would cover 100 percent of the California wildfire fight, his response has been compared to other disasters.

Biden and Trump put out vastly different statements about the spate of wildfires ravaging Los Angeles and the surrounding areas.

Newsom said it was a "ridiculous lie" that he cut $100 million, a retort he included on his new website, California Fire Facts. But the website didn’t dissect the $100 million; it focused on the big picture of the budget during his tenure, asserting that the budget had grown for California’s Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, Cal Fire.

President Joe Biden repeatedly told speakers to “fire away!” during a White House briefing on the still raging Los Angeles wildfires before blaming local power companies for fire hydrants running dry — an allegation that was quickly rebuffed by both of the area’s electricity providers.

Biden said on Monday that those affected by the fires can apply to receive a one-time payment of $770 to buy immediate necessities like food and baby formula.

"I told the governor and local officials, spare no expense," President Biden said, calling the damage "catastrophic."
