The ongoing saga of Jimmy Butler's trade request continues to serve as a massive subplot to the Heat's 2024-25 season. As contentious as the situation may seem, Butler and a select few of his Miami teammates seem to be having fun with the absurdity of it all.

The Miami Heat forward was suspended indefinitely by the team on Monday, the latest in a saga that began with a trade request.

Jimmy Butler’s tumultuous relationship with the Miami Heat took another turn on Monday as the team is suspending the six-time NBA All-Star for the third time this season, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. Per Charania, the suspension came after Butler walked out of a team shootaround after being informed that he would no longer be starting.

Butler apparently walked out of shootaround Monday morning after learning the team wasn't going to start him in their game against the Orlando Magic, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. Haywood Highsmith will start in his place. Butler was set to return to the team Monday after serving a two-game suspension.

Bernie Lee, Butler’s agent, posted a press release on X akin to Michael Jordan’s famous “I’m back” statement, which ended his first NBA retirement in 1995. Leaning into the Jordan theme — or troll — Butler posted photos on his Instagram story wearing the Jordan No. 45 Bulls uniform.

Just when it seemed like Jimmy Butler was set to return from his second suspension for the Miami Heat, he ended up getting suspended indefinitely by the team on Monday. And in the wake of his team's big decision, Butler took to social media to break the silence with a rather cryptic post.
