On January 26, ICE agents working in Salt Lake City called local police asking for expedited service. When officers arrived they found the ICE agents had pulled over a citizen for aggressively driving toward them during a traffic stop. Now, a video showing the interaction has the police siding with the driver.

U.S. immigration agents made “demonstrably false” statements to local police during a traffic stop last month, potentially committing a crime in the process, a Utah mayor alleged in an email urging the agency to investigate its own officers.

Police said they contacted ICE officials about concerns over “the inaccuracies and inconsistencies in their agents’ statements.”

A bill banning collective bargaining for Utah’s public employees is now headed to Gov. Spencer Cox for his signature.
